Pedodontia

Children’s teeth are particularly important for their health. They should be kept in good conditions. Show your children that you brush your teeth and if necessary play with them and their toothbrushes, so that they will learn how important oral health is. You should teach them to keep their teeth clean, to eat healthy food and to go to a dentist periodically. In their first check-up children will get to know our staff.

BABY’S BOTTLE

Baby’s bottles are responsible of must of the caries in a child’s mouth; then you should  not let your children sleep sucking them. Sugar  can cause enamel’s demineralization, specially in superior teeth that are not covered by the tongue.

HYGIENE AND BRUSHING

Even a child’s first tooth should be immediately brushed, at first with a wet tampon, then with a soft brush and fluoride toothpaste to prevent caries. The brush should be changed after 2 months or whenever it is worn out. Check your children’s brushing technique and help them remove plaque.

FLUORINE

Fluorine is a mineral that strengthens  and protects them from caries. To prevent the formation of caries some fluoroprophylaxis sessions are recommended from your dentist . Then, your dentist will evaluate if some fluorine tablets should be taken, too.

SEALINGS

Sealing a tooth mean applying  a resin on its sulcus , specially on posterior teeth where the risk of caries is bigger. The sealings are done on permanent teeth and after some years sometimes they should be done again. Teeth can be sealed and get caries anyway, so they should be kept clean with  toothbrush and dental floss.

TEETH LOSS

A child can loss a tooth before its time; this can make adiacent  teeth move and get in the way  of the growning permanent tooth. In this case a space manteiner is recommended, in order to preserve the right space for the right teeth.

THE FIRST CHECK UP SHOULD BE DONE AT THE AGE OF 4/5. DOING CHECK UPS PUNCTUALLY CAN HELP THE DENTIST TO FIND OR PREVENT PROBLEMS EASILY AND MEANS HAVING  A GOOD ORAL HEALTH FOR YOUR KIDS.
